Astros -116 vs. White Sox: August 16

By Adam Ortega

If you are a big fan of seeing some great pitching, Tuesday night will be your opportunity to watch what is sure to be a great matchup. The Windy City will play host to a game that will feature two of MLB's best pitchers. Verlander of the Astros and Cease of the White Sox will face some challenges as they toe the mound to see who can lift their team to a significant victory on Tuesday night.

For White Sox, Dylan Cease (12-5, 1.96 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) will step on the mound in an attempt to continue what has been an excellent year for him. Cease's fastball is the pitch he has relied on the most this season. If the fastball clicks for him, it'll put the White Sox in a great position to win. However, I'm interested in one key matchup when Cease goes up against Trey Mancini of the Astros. Although Mancini isn't a considerable home run hitter, he's very talented at bringing in RBI's.

The Astros have had a significant advantage in having one of the ageless wonders, Justin Verlander (15-3, 1.85 ERA, 0.86 WHIP), representing their organization. For years, I've been waiting to see what kind of dropoff is in store for Verlander as he ages. The only thing that seems to be dropping is his ERA and WHIP. Against the White Sox, one of the bats that Verlander will have to be careful with is leadoff hitter AJ Pollock who does an excellent job getting on base. If he does this, look for Verlander to have a successful outing.

From the players to the pitching to managers, the Astros check all the boxes of a World Series contending team that should get a win Tuesday night against the White Sox. When looking at the Astros at the short price of -116, how can you not look at backing this team to increase your bankroll?

Thanks for your support, and best of luck with your wagers.
