Mets Taking on the Padres of San Diego

Tuesday’s are the day that bets are won, Saturday is usually the day where it is make or break. You can have a very good day or a very bad day. Then you have Sunday where you either lose some of the money from Saturday or you simply just don’t even bet Sunday because of how bad Saturday was. Then Monday is the ‘it’s a new week’ motto, and maybe you win, maybe you lose. But Tuesday is the actual start of the week and it is usually a profitable one.

For Tuesday’s bet I am going to head all the way to the West Coast. The New York Mets (38-

19) taking on the San Diego Padres (33-22).

This is a very good matchup between two, what look to be playoff teams. The Mets coming off a very good weekend series with the Dodgers, even though they split the four game series, it still felt like a win for the Mets. After struggling to score in the first two games, they piled on 9 runs on Saturday night and 5 runs on Sunday. Then would put up 11 runs against the Padres in Game 1 of this series. Prior to last night’s game, the Padres won 3 out of 4 games on the road against the Brewers. Which was very needed after getting swept by the Cardinals in three games.

Pitching for the Mets tonight is right hander Taijuan Walker, he is 3-1 on the year, 21 strikeouts, 2.88 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. There is one key thing about Walker this year… he is a much better pitcher on the road then he is at home. At home he has a 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. On the road he is 2-1 with a 2.81 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP.

Even though the record and ERA is basically the same, WHIP is one of my go-to stats to look at for a pitcher, and a WHIP of 1.47 is super concerning, so I am glad he is not at home.

For the Padres is Yu Darvish (Be Nice To Yu) he is 4-3, with 4.03 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. Speaking of pitching on the road and at home, Yu Darvish is very similar; he is 2-2,

5.82 ERA and 1.41 WHIP on the road, and at home he is deadly… 2-1. 1.71 ERA and a WHIP of 0.68. That is night and day with those two split stats. I was going to lean Mets in this spot but after seeing Yu’s stats at home I cannot pass that up.

Give me the San Diego Padres ML -123 at LeoVegas.

You know what, because Walker is so good on the road, and how nice Yu is at home, give me the under as well.

U8 total runs -118 at LeoVegas

Let’s have a winning Tuesday. The winningest day of them all. See you at the top.
