MLB Picks: June 15

Struggling BrewCrew Taking on the Mets

Good Wednesday to you all, I am feeling on top of the world. 2-0 in yesterday's bets. Red Sox -1.5 and the u9.5 runs SMASHED. I am looking forward as I try to keep it going and take it one day at a time.

Today’s goal, just like the Colts old motto: Just go 1-0.

In today’s bet we have the Milwaukee Brewers (34-29) taking on the New York Mets (41-22).

It has been a bad last couple of games for the Brewers, they currently have one win in their last 10 games. Their most recent win was on Sunday vs the Nationals; their first win since June 2nd vs the Padres. So they basically have 2 wins in their last 2 weeks. Yikes.

On the Mets side, they are currently on a little 2 game win streak, beating the Brewers last night 4-0 and then beating the Angels on Sunday Night Baseball 4-1. They are 6-4 in their last 10 games and look to be a contender for the World Series. Doing this without Jacob deGrom not even pitching a pitch this entire season. Scary things.

Pitching for today’s matchup, for the Brewers it is none other than the ace himself, Corbin Burnes. In his 12 games he is 3-4, with a 2.48 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 72 strikeouts. So clearly very very good numbers, just not having the best record is blooming over those stats. In his last two starts, he never even made it to the 5th inning in both games. Pitching 3.2 innings vs the Padres and giving up 5 runs, and pitching 4.1 innings vs the Phillies giving up 3 runs.

For the Mets, they are putting David Peterson on the mound. He isn't the most well-known pitcher in the league but he definitely has the stats on his side. He is 3-0 on the season, with a 3.00 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 32 strikeouts. The 20th overall pick in 2017 doesn’t really go deep into the games, having hit 6 innings once so far this season. He pitched 2.2 innings vs the Angels and 3.2 innings vs the Dodgers.

So it looks like it might be somewhat of a bullpen day for the Mets, and they are going to be tasked with going against Burnes. I’ll take the Brewers all day here. Maybe not all day, but most of the day.

Like I said, they are 1-9 in their last 10 games, playing the top team in the National League, and they are a -122 favourite??

Corbin Burnes will rebound after his last 2 showings at home, this game in New York he will bounce back. He even pitches better on the road than at home. At home he is 1-3 with a 3.63 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP. On the road he is 2-1 with a 1.42 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP.

Give me the Brewers -122 at LeoVegas.

I’ll see you at the top.
