MLB Picks: June 21

Kyle Gibson Revenge Game

What’s good everybody? Welcome to Tuesday, the best day to win money. We head to the diamond on this beautiful Tuesday evening. I need to stop acting like it is something new heading to the diamond. We are pretty much in full force MLB mode right now. NHL is still going on, so we have that. Is it just me or are the NHL Playoffs going on way longer than normal? Or did the NBA start their playoffs much earlier than usual? That is for another day. Yes, baseball.

We head to Arlington tonight where we have the Philadelphia Phillies (36-32) taking on the Texas Rangers (31-35).

Wow, Joe Girardi must have really been doing a piss poor job with the Phillies. They were really struggling until the last month or so ago. Yeah, on May 31st they had a record of 21-29. Then after their next game in which they won they fired Girardi, now they sit at 36-32.

THAT IS 15-3 IN THEIR LAST 18 GAMES. Sorry for yelling there but that is remarkable for baseball when anything and I mean anything can happen. But man, that must be tough to see if you're Joe Girardi, at that point do you still watch your old team? Also, you’ve got to be lowkey rooting against them at the same time.

Alright, let’s get to the game today. We have two things on our plate today, a pitcher’s duel and a revenge game. Nothing I love more than a revenge game.

Pitching for the Phillies is Kyle Gibson, he pitched for the Rangers for one and a half seasons from 2020-2021. In his 2021 campaign he made his first ever All-Star Game for the Rangers.

On the season Gibson is 4-2, with a 4.04 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. The ERA is something he could really cut down, but it is weird when you look at his game log, he has only given up more than 4 runs twice so far this season. But I guess Math is coming into play here and making him look worse than he is.

Starting for the Rangers is Martin Perez, a man who pitched like 7 seasons with the Rangers, left for 3 seasons and has now returned to Texas, and let me tell you what. Perez has been a STUD this season, I am not even sure how this happened.

On the season Perez is 4-2 just like Gibson, with a 2.10 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. That ERA is looking quite sexy, a low 2 ERA is just a fine sight to see. But this has just been an absolute different Perez this season.

To put it in perspective, his career WHIP is 1.45, his career ERA is 4.53. Perez is looking like having a breakout season at age 31. Better late than never I suppose. His last outing vs the Marlins he pitched 8 innings giving up 7 hits and only 1 earned run.

So, I really like both of these pitchers today, and when I look at the total I was expecting to see like a 7.5, but when I check betstamp and see that the line was 8.5 I was pumped but also nervous at the same time.

I obviously like how it is a higher total than what I expected, but in the back of my mind I am wondering if there is something they know that I don't? Well…that’s gambling.

Pick: U8.5 (-108) at BetVictor.

I’ll see you at the top.
