MLB Picks: June 21

By Aamir Jaffer

After a tough 8-7 loss to the White Sox last night, the Jays are looking to bounce back with Gausman on the mound. While Gausman has had his ups and downs this season, it's only fitting he will find his rhythm as he is still posting acceptable numbers. After an abysmal performance against the AL East’s worst Baltimore Orioles in his last start, I look for him to have a bounce back game here against the White Sox.

While the Blue Jays bats may have not been the most consistent throughout the season, they still boast one of the scariest lineups in all of baseball. With Vladdy heating up on the offensive end, the bottom of the order has fulfilled its role as Cavan Biggio and Ramiel Tapia have found some rhythm. After putting up 7 and 10 runs in the last 2 games, the bats should remain hot here in the Windy City. The Jays are also 20-8 after a loss this season, and I’ll be riding with them on the money line with only a little bit extra juice.

PICK: Jays ML (-118) at CoolBet

Other notable picks:

Jays/White Sox U 9 (-104) at FanDuel: I believe, in light of recent events for the Jays, the over is a little bit inflated due to the high run total the last two games. Even though the Jays’ bats should remain hot, I’ll be going with the under here at -104 via FanDuel.

Jose Abreau U 0.5 hits (+185) at BetRivers: After failing to record a hit against Gausman the last time the White Sox took on the Jays, with plus odds, I’ll take the under on Abreau’s hits at +185 via BetRivers.

NY Yankees ML (-175) at bet365: While it's bad news for baseball fans across America, the Yankees have been absolutely rolling through the season so far boasting the league's best record of 50-17 (9-1 in their last 10 games). With MVP frontrunner Aaron Judge leading the league in home runs and the Yankees leading the league in runs per game (5.1) and runs allowed (3.0), many bankrolls have benefited from the Yankees success this season. The Yanks are leading the league on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. This includes HRs, OPS, and SLG on the offensive side, and ERA and WHIP on the defensive side. Even though it’s a lot of juice to lay down, the Yankees are 25-11 against AL East opponents, and I’ll be rolling with the ML tonight at -175 (bet365).
