MLB Picks: May 11

By Cartichoke

With a full load of MLB games on today’s beautiful Wednesday, there are a lot of earlier games going on today, a few afternoon games, a couple mid-day games and then to top it off with the evening games. Just an all-around deadly day for baseball.

But let’s skip to the evening slate of games where you can sit down and relax and watch this game at your place and not be at work sweating these early games out.

We have the New York Mets (21-10) going to Nationals Park to take on the Washington Nationals (10-21).

Pitching for tonight's game are Taylor Megill and former Aaron Sanchez.

*checks notes* Yup that is the former Blue Jay pitcher Aaron Sanchez in fact.

I am going to lay the –1.5 runs here for the Mets and take their Runline.

Taylor Megill who (because of the Jacob DeGrom injury) wasn’t even supposed to be in the rotation for the Mets this season, but he has come out of the gates, guns blazing.

Standing at a monstrous 6’7”, he has posted a 4-1 record with a 2.43 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP which is insanity, considering he has now tied his wins last year with 4 already, and his ERA is down A WHOLE 2 RUNS from 4.52 last year. To make things even better for Megill, he has already faced this Nationals team this year, his first start of the season going 5 innings strong, 0 earned runs, 3 hits and striking out 5. AND TO MAKE THAT EVEN BETTER, Juan Soto went 0-2 with a ground out and a strikeout vs Megill.

On the Nationals side Aaron Sanchez having a rather pedestrian season so far with a 1-2 record and a 8.56 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP. He started the month of May getting tagged pretty hard, in his last outing vs the Rockies he pitched 4.1 innings, giving up 6 hits, 6 ER 2 BB and striking out 4 with a WHIP of 1.85.

The Mets are just the all-around better baseball team here, their owner has shown that he wants to win by signing Scherzer in the offseason, eating 20 million dollars and cutting Robinson Cano and to have a winning organization it starts from the top.

They currently stand #1 in the MLB in OBP with a team average of .336.

The New York Mets deserve their respect, and I sure respect them as of now.

Give me the New York Mets run line –1.5, I grabbed this and you can also get their run line at –105 at Bet99
