MLB Picks: May 14

Written by Cartichoke

How is everyone doing this Saturday, we have a great Saturday in store today and it will come with a winner today, let’s head to the diamond today and get a baseball winner. What do you say?

We have the Milwaukee Brewers (21-12) taking on the Miami Marlins (14-18) today. The Brewers come into this game on a 7 game road trip and just took Game 1 of the series 2-1 last night vs the Marlins. Corbin Burnes played last night for the Brewers, and pitched a solid 7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER.

Marlins coming into tonight with a 6-8 home record and having just one win in their last 5 games. On the mound for the Brewers tonight is Eric Lauer, and let me tell you right now. This man has been unstoppable as of late. The 1st round pick in 2016 is 3-0, with a 1.82 ERA, 40 K’s, while only giving up 6 earned runs this year, and 4 of those runs have been homers. His last 3 outings, he had the following strikeouts: 8 vs Braves, 11 vs Cubs, and 13 vs the Phillies. Absolute machine.

Pitching for the Marlins today is another 1st round pick, Trevor Rogers. So far this year he has posted a 1-4 record, with a 5.00 ERA, 15 ER and a WHIP of 1.48. Not the best numbers ever, and I don’t think things will change in this game either.

I am going to go with the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at -120 at BetRegal.

This line seems a bit fishy with how well the Brewers have been playing lately and considering the difference in pitching, but it is baseball and give me that very good price.

Brewers bats have been lighting it up lately too, they currently stand 3rd in the MLB in total home runs with 44. The Marlins are in the middle of the pack at 12, with a total of 31 home runs. And that is great news for Brewers fans and bettors, because like I said earlier Eric Lauer has given 6 ER and 4 of them have been HR’s, and so they play just an average home run hitting team. This should go pretty well for the Brewers.

Brewers players to watch:

Christian Yelich 5 HR, 20 RBI, .838 OPS (Just hit for the Cycle on the May 11th)

Rowdy Tellez 7 HR, 27 RBI, .833 OPS

Marlins players to watch:

Jazz Chisholm Jr. .295 AVG, 6 HR, 24 RBI, .947 OPS

Give me the Brewers -120 at BetRegal to make up for the Bucks loss last night, and show Miami that Milwaukee is coming for them, whether that be in the MLB or the NBA.
