MLB Picks: May 26

By Stefan Luciani

Okay, so Monday was a better day, right? Two for two, can’t complain about that. So I say, might as well make today a good day to start a nice streak.

Nothing crazy for today folks, everyone knows how good the New York Yankees have been of late. They find themselves in the top five of almost every offensive category around the league. Along with that, they’re averaging almost 4.75 runs per game. They are down at the Trop to play the Rays, and yes the Yankees have never dominated down there. But the fact remains that we haven’t seen a Yanks lineup this potent in a very long time. They currently lead the bigs with 63 total home runs.

On top of this, the Yankees are sending a dominant Nestor Cortes (3-1, 1.80 ERA) to the mound, who has continued to impress and shut down opposing lineups. Vegas currently has the odds pretty tight between these AL East rivals, with New York holding the slight edge with a -120 ML (theScoreBet). I have my eyes on the run line though. -1.5 @ +150 (LeoVegas) is too appetizing to pass up on, what can I say. As I’ve said before, I like the risk, it makes me feel alive.

Pick: Yankees -1.5 @ +150 (LeoVegas) vs Rays.

Other Notable Games:

Brewer ML @ +108 (LeoVegas) vs Cardinals: The Cardinals have been a very good team this year with a record of 24-19. They'll be sending Adam Wainwright (5-3, 2.87 ERA) to the bump who has also been solid and is coming off some really strong performances. But the Brewers are looking to Eric Lauer (4-1, 2.16 ERA) who has also been quite good in his own right, and he’s going up against a Cards team that has much less experience against him than the Brewers lineup does against Wainwright. Oh, and also, they’re 28-16 and are top five in quite literally every major pitching metric.

Blue Jays ML @ +150 (Caesars) vs Angels: Now this one I know is probably a bit of “betting with my heart, and not my head” and you know what? I’m okay with that. After the performance my Blue Jays put up in that second game against the Cardinals, there may truly be hope after all. Hyun Jin Ryu (1-0, 6.00 ERA)  has looked solid since returning from his stint on the IL, even if his numbers are inflated from the sample size prior to it. They are going against an absolute specimen in Shohei Ohtani, but this lineup at least has seen more of Ohtani than the Angels have seen of Ryu. Book it baby.

One of betstamp’s largest brand values is transparency. Whether you are looking to tail or fade my picks, or potentially just like reading the breakdowns, you can find my full documented betting record here. Best of luck with your bets today.
