UFC Picks: June 09

Written by Cartichoke

This weekend cannot come any sooner, UFC 275: Teixeira vs Procházka. It seems like a very long time since we had the last UFC pay-per-view. Like what was UFC 274? Was it Oliveira and Gaethje? It was, wow. Yeah that seems like forever ago.

This card is a decent one, a couple title fights and a rematch of one of the best fights I ever watched in Zhang vs Jędrzejczyk. It is also taking place in Singapore which is pretty cool, although I have no idea where Singapore is on a map, I think somewhere in southern Asia, but I could be wrong.

Betting, oh yes right sorry, got off track a bit there. I am currently 4-0 in my UFC bets since I have been writing these articles. My wins last week included Volkov & Saint-Denis. They both smacked, so let’s get a winner today.

I’ll take a stab with the main event, the champion Glover Teixeira taking on Jiri Procházka. I am going to take Glover in the main event here. This man keeps on being underestimated and disrespected. Let’s take a trip back in time for a second here, we are going to start with Glover vs Krylov on September 14th, 2019. He was the slight underdog in this fight, he was a -110 underdog with Krylov being a -120 favourite. Glover proceeds to sneak by with a split decision.

His next fight would be against Anthony Smith on May 13th, 2020. He was a +175 underdog, and let me tell you, he destroyed Smith. It was a complete and utter beatdown. He scored the win by TKO in Round 5.

His next fight was against Thiago Santos on November 7th, 2020. He was again an underdog, this time closing at +200. He would then get his opponent’s back and submit Santos by a rear naked choke in Round 3.

He is now given a title shot and facing Jan Blachowicz. The oddsmakers made Glover a +215 underdog for that fight. Well, he again proved the doubters and the oddsmakers wrong, putting Blachowicz in a rear naked choke in the second round to capture the title just two days after turning 42 years young.

Now, present day. He is now defending his title against a scary, scary man in Jiri Procházka. His last win against Dominick Reyes was one of the most vicious knockouts that I have ever seen. He is now a +170 underdog.

Now, you just have to take Glover here right? Being an underdog in his last couple fights and still getting the wins.

Which is why I will take Jiri Procházka -200 at bet365

It is just too good to be true, I think a lot of people will be on Glover to win this because he keeps winning despite being an underdog. I think it will be the opposite this weekend, it makes total sense.

Give me the Czechs, Jiri Procházka -200 at bet365, and most importantly…

I’ll see you at the top.
