UFC Fight Night: June 18

Written by Cartichoke

This Saturday is UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs Emmett and this card is honestly pretty freakin sweet for a free card.

I am not even going to be quiet about it, I hope you have been paying attention to my UFC picks. I currently stand at 5-0 since I have started writing UFC picks. Last weekend I was given a gift from the heavens with Jiri pulling out the Round 5 finish against Glover. I had Jiri ML and let me tell you I am counting my lucky stars. But that doesn’t show up on the record books, 5-0 let’s make it 6.

The fight that I will be tackling is between Kevin Holland and Tim Means.

Tim Means comes into this fight with a massive 32-12-1 record and is currently on a 3-fight win streak. Beating Laureano Staropoli via UD, beating Mike Perry via UD and beating Nicolas Dalby via UD. This guy just straight up wins fights, he lets it go to the judges instead of taking it into his own hands, but he is clearly doing something right to be on a three-fight win streak.

He is going up against the Trailblazer, Kevin Holland. Holland currently has a record of 22 wins and 7 defeats in his MMA career. He just recently made the move down to Welterweight after having back-to-back losses to Derek Brunson and Marvin Vettori; two guys that are near the top of the Middleweight division. In his first fight at Welterweight, he was given a cupcake of a matchup in Alex Oliveira, who is now cut from the UFC.

But I do like Kevin Holland in this matchup against Tim Means, I mean Means is 38 years old and Holland is only 29. Kind of looking like one guy hitting his prime and one past his prime, even though he is on a three-fight win streak.

I believe the UFC is giving Holland another layup in the division to get himself up in the rankings to fight more known Welterweights, so I think he takes cares of business in this fight.

He has a 6-inch reach advantage against Means, and I just think he cracks him and maybe gets a finish, I don’t like betting on the older chins.

Give me Kevin Holland ML -294 at LeoVegas
