Tsarukyan vs Gamrot
How is it going fight fans? I am now what? 6-0 in my UFC bets, I think. But let’s keep our head down and keep chugging forward, keep on grinding for these dubs.
I had Kevin Holland ML last week as well as him to win inside the distance, maybe that makes me like 7-0 actually.
We head back to the lovely UFC Apex Center, where you can hear every step on the canvas, every punch landed, every single calf kick as well and we have a great main event this Saturday.
Saturday will not be the most popular main event we have seen, but these are two up and comers in the Lightweight division going at it.
First up, fighting out of Poland with a professional record 20 wins and 1 defeat, Mateusz “Gamer” Gamrot.
20–1??? That record is just about as good as The Undertaker’s dominance record at WrestleMania. Gamrot is currently on a 3-fight win streak, and doing so in splendid fashion finishing Diego Ferreira in the second round, beating the hardest hitting 145er Jeremy Stephens via a kimura in the first round and beating Scott Holtzman in round two via ground and pound. His only defeat as an MMA fighter came to Guram Kutateladze, who is a very respectable fighter in the division.
Gamrot is the underdog in this fight…
You’re probably wondering how the hell is his opponent you must be asking how can a 20-1 guy with impressive wins and an impressive loss is a +245 underdog?
Well…his opponent…Arman I’m not even going to try and type his nickname, Tsarukyan. This guy is badass. Seriously, he is 18-2 in his MMA career, with his first loss of his career coming in his second professional fight and his second loss… hear me out for a second, was his UFC debut fight…on short notice…at age 22…losing a split decision…against ISLAM MAKHACHEV.
Islam is currently on one of the biggest tears in the Lightweight division and is rumored to be fighting for the belt at UFC 281 vs Oliveira.
That is Tsarukyan’s only UFC loss, the sky's the limit for this kid. It is a bit strange seeing a #11 contender fighting the #12 contender as both upcomers and seeing such a big difference in the betting line.
But I believe it is night and day between the two, Tsarukyan is a bit of a better fighter than Gamrot is, especially beating a 19-2 Joel Alvarez in his last fight, while Gamrot is beating Stephens who is now in the PFL.
Below is Gamrot’s pro fight time in his career, basically he is a decision machine and as well as he fought two 25-minute fights so the extra two rounds aren't brand new to him.
I’ll see you at the top.
