Happy Fight Week UFC fans, this Saturday we have UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Vieira. I’m not going to lie here, this card is a step down from last week’s card and last week’s card wasn't really the best either. If you love the UFC at their UFC 274’s and their 273’s, you're going to even love them here, no complaining.

For my pick I am going to head to the start of the card, so you don't need to wait all night to get this bet cashed, it is right at the start of the evening, so when we get this bet, you're going to have money in that account to throw on some other things Saturday night. (I’m also 1-0 in my UFC article bets so far, not to brag)

We have Chase Hooper taking on Felipe Colares.

First off, Chase Hooper, one of the youngest guys on the UFC roster, a lot of people think that he is the son of former UFC fighter Ben Askren. He is coming into this fight with a MMA record of 10-2-1 and a UFC record of 2-2. His last fight was against Steven Peterson at UFC 263, losing a unanimous decision.

AND HIS OPPONENT, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Felipe “Cabocao” Colares. He has a professional record of 10-3 while being 2-3 in the UFC. The last time we saw Felipe was October 9th, 2021 at UFC Fight Night: Dern vs Rodriguez where he lost a close split decision.

Anyway, I am going to be as nice and respectful as I can here about Hooper, but he probably has the worst striking that I have ever seen inside the octagon. Okay maybe not the worst, but not the best I should say. Someone even put together his career striking highlights, so watch it here if you have the time.

But my pick isnt for either of these fighters to get the win, my pick is for this fight to go over 2.5 rounds at -167 at Bet99.

So basically I am saying this fight is going the distance, OR there is a finish with under 2:29 remaining in the third round (I have made that mistake before).

Looking at Colares, he does a great job of not being finished, he doesnt have a single defeat in his MMA career that ends up not going to the scorecards which is great.

Above is a graph of his pro fight time, with those big bars are at the 15 minute mark on the side, which means his last 5 fights have gone to the score cards.

For Chase Hooper, the last 2 of his three fights have went the distance, with the one that didnt ended up in a heel hook with 2 minutes left in the 3rd round. Which would cash this bet too.

So give me Chase Hooper and Felipe Colares to go over 2.5 rounds, -167 at Bet99.
